The end of face masks in Spain! Where do you still have to wear them?

Face masks will cease to be compulsory in most places in Spain on 20 April.

After two long years, Spain will finally say goodbye to the use of face masks indoors on Wednesday 20 April, but the new rule will have some exceptions and there has been much speculation that some establishments will continue to impose the restriction.

The government has been very clear that masks will continue to be mandatory in all public transport, hospitals, health centres and nursing homes, and this weekend the health minister announced that they will also be mandatory in pharmacies.

In Catalonia, the measure was brought forward in schools from Tuesday.
